Taiwan II

NICE

The following is theoretically possible, but highly unlikely.

Were China to invade Taiwan in a bloodless takeover, applying the same controls as is the case in Shanghai, or possibly Hong Kong, with the following exception, could there be benefits for all?

China could allow Taiwanese to leave the country, taking with them or transferring an amount, over which there would be a negotiated amount which could be transferred.

Were some forms of the above to occur could the United States and/or other countries, benefit by establishing New Immigrant Communities of Enterprise (NICE) in which the immigrants could be granted conditional residence, perhaps leading to citizenship.

The NICE areas could be privately financed and be operated under both state and federal laws. The taxes generated could be dedicated to improving the host jurisdictions.

The suggested China action would allow for the political need of the CCP and result in a less fierce resistance by the Taiwanese, as an alternative to the inevitable would be possible.

The suggested American action of creating NICE areas would attract, at no financial cost, pro-democratic, educated and highly productive people, whose self-financed efforts would benefit the NICE areas.

Seems to me to be an overall win/win. What do you think?
